ECLIPSE DVD595 from Richer Sounds

Anybody know anything about either this player or any player it shares technical bits with? It claims to be multi region, MP3 capable and has a built in decoder and with Richer Sounds selling them for £160 it`s very cheap. Does anybody own one? If so what is the picture quality like compared to Aiwa 370 or Scan and what is the MP3 playback interface like? I would look at one in Richer Sounds, but our branch is flooded!

Me m8 has got one and has been pleased with so far (4 months) the picture quality is pretty good for a budget player but the only issues he has had with it is disc`s that are layered like Gladiator, he says it just freezes for a millisecond or two. It might be an idea to take such a disc into Richer sounds and play on the Eclipse and see for yourself.

Had one for a month. No problems at all with it. Plays all the discs I`ve tried including svcd and vcd. No macrovision either.

However tonite I`m going to try the toy story box set disc 3 on it which will I guess be make or break!

I`ll post the result tomorrow.

I seem to have to alias`s here as me and as moose!

Anyway the eclipse 595 played the toy story 3 disc perfectly like it`s played everything else.

When I read about the warfedale problems etc I think that for 159 I really made a wise choice.

I cannot recommend this player high enough.
