Talking of Tivo.....When the Bloomin `eck are Sky gonna reduce the price of Sky+???????

Ive read most of the threads on the Sky+ Vs Tivo arguments and mainly for convenients sake i would like to have a Sky+ box. However my only problem is its an absolute effing rip off.

So does anyone have any idea if they intend to reduce their prices?? As far as i can remember its been about £300 for the box and about £10 a month for subscription ever since they launched it.........

Your thoughts please!

ps. anyone know anyone thats actually got one??? Cos i sure dont!

agree completely, I am interested in the Sky+ just to get a working system but is a complete rip off,

I suppose I wouldn`t mind paying the £300 but not the £10/month or get the box for £100 and then pay the £10/month but for 2-3 years max and only then if they give you a 2-3 year guarantee with it..

Or better still have it all for nothing to get shot of all the dodgy boxes that are out there now and make up for years of terrible service, bloody Panny box still playing up.

Don`t know anybody who has sky+, a friend of a friend works for avonline who do most of skys installs here in South Wales said he hasn`t fitted any (this was 2 or 3 months ago now) and nor had any of his mates.

I would never get Sky+ unless it was free subscription and the box was under £150. At the current price of £300 for a box, another £100 could buy a DVD Recorder which records in digital format and the media is removable. Very apealling to me personally.

Sky+ does have the advantage of being able to record one thing and watch the other though. I rarely get in that situation. Sometimes there is a footy match on Sky Sports and a series on one of the other channels I wouldn`t mind watching. It seems though that all soaps and series seem to be repeated later that day/week so I can catch them then.

Can`t remember the exact details but I`m sure I had something through from Sky about a month ago offering Sky+ at reduced prices. It did say something about the offer was because I`d been with Sky for a long time but I just assumed everyone got it.

As I said I didn`t take much notice because I wasn`t interested but it was definately cheaper.
