A friend of mine reckons that his mate`s dad saw the two towers on a transatlantic flight from the US. His mate`s dad had the good sense to record the screening with a cam-corder and my mate saw this copy. I didn`t believe him but he seemed to know details of the story that he could not have known as he hasn`t read the trilogy. Obviously he could have obtained this info elsewhere (read the book). But i`ve known him for a long time and he doesn`t usually go in for this type of wind up. Unfortunately the copy of the film is in Southampton so i can`t verify it for myself. Anyone know if planes are regularly used for pre/test screenings?

Don`t know the answer to that I`m afraid. But I have seen some of the film from downloads. A quick search of winmx shows some have the full film from probably the same source as your mate.
you are right it is on winmx, the plane story must be bullshit.
RE: LOTR: Two Towers seen on plane?
is it a good pic/sound on win mx???
dan
Whilst transatlantic flights do preview some movies (i.e. on my flight in July they were showing "High Crimes" and that hasn`t hit our cinema screens yet), but there is absoloutely no way they would show TTT this soon, especially has some of the SFX is still being done no doubt.

Who in their right mind would want to spoil what will no doubt be a great cinematic experience by watching a pirate copy of TTT?????

A complete lie, think about it. The battery life of the camera would be around 90mins, he would have to hold the camera all through the film and even if he did it would have no sound as films on planes have the soundtrack running through headphones sockets in the seats. The film is also being edited and not finished. I think he would have more chance of seing the Twin Towers from a plane........

When I was on the ferry to Calais they were showing the 3rd Star Wars installment and in the first class lounge - `Return of The King` (limited Ferry edition) they were also handing out free £20 notes.

And Stanley Kubrick was handing around drinks.
