I can : I originally got hooked up to the Internet via ondigital in Autumn 2000, plugged "DVD" into Ask Jeeves and came across a portal site called DVD Links.
DVD Reviewer was in that little list and the rest, as they say, is history :-)
Bought my player on boxing day 2000, and a few weeks after spent a bit of time searching the web for region hacks.
Found this site and visited reasonably regular since.
So Clayts, how did you get to become a moderator
total film had it in the R1 dvd section as the site to get region hacks from so I came and had a look around and signed onto the boards ages ago, I don`t post much but I spend loads of time peruesing the articles nowadays.

Doing a search on Google about the James Bond box set I came acroos this site.

RE: How did YOU find Reviewer?
Shortly after getting my player, I looked to see what sites were out there and compiled quite a list in my `favourites` folder. Not sure how I found Reviewer, but its the only one that I still visit daily.

Just sort of fell into it, really. I`d always endeavoured to exert a calm influence over the more vocal members of the Forum, usually without much success (hello Iron Duke !), back in the days of flame wars every second thread.
I just wrote to RJ, and the rest is history. I like to think I`m firm but fair, and must move about 50 threads into the right Forums every day !!!
Mind you I banned someone for the first time ever yesterday : that muppet who was trying to flog pirated stuff on the Bargain Bucket got the big elbow, and unless they write back and categorically state they are never gonna do it again they`re off my Christmas card list.
Contrary to popular belief, it gives me no pleasure in banning anyone, but this geezer broke every rule under the sun. Not bad going : one ban in 18 months :-)

Yeah, but now you`ve got the taste for it.
To qoute James Gandolfini in True Romance....
"First one is tough, no foolin`. The second one, the second one ain`t no Mardis Gras either, but it`s better than the first one `cause you still feel the same thing, y`know, except it`s more diluted, y`know it`s, it`s better. I threw up on the first one, you believe that? Then the third one, the third one is easy, you level right off. It`s no problem. Now, now I do it just to watch their expression change."
It`s downhill from here Clayts, dictatorship here we come ;-).
I was searching for a DVD review and came across Reviewer, I was impressed so I stayed and started writing reviews too. It`s pretty much the only site I know of where everyone can make a contribution review wise.
