Page 1 of Straw Dogs

Read in the newspaper that Straw Dogs has been passed for video release by the BBFC. I had a look at their web site:

Which refers to "a pre-cut American print of the film".

Does anyone know if the Region 1 DVD is "pre cut"?

AFAIK, the R1 disc is the uncut version. For quite a long time it was available on the cheap from FutureEnt. Don`t know if it still is, though.
I think that the "pre-cut" one they refer to is a print that was prepared to try and get it through the BBFC, but which if anything seemed to make the film more contentious.
There`s an interesting article on the film in today`s Evening Standard, for those that live within the distribution area.

Saw Susan George a few weeks back in a National Trust garden taking pictures.

Of course we were all stood around the car pointing going -
"It`s that bird from Eastenders init??"
"Yeah thats right, she got her tits out in Straw Dogs didn`t she".

Unfortunately, she might`ve heard that last bit cos she looked at us staring at her and said hello in a little bit of a disgruntled voice.
