RE: Cheap place for Teac Reference 350 System?

I bought one of these at Richer Sounds in Glasgow recently. It was the last one in the shop, and one of the boxes had been opened, but it didn`t appear to have been taken out of the packaging, so I took it for £270.

However, when I got it home (to Aberdeen!) it turned out that the DVD player had not been converted to multi-region. I phoned up, and they agreed to send up a new one and collect the one I have. That was weeks ago. I have been messed about since then, which is surprising, as Richer Sounds` service is usually exemplary. I`ve been told the replacement will arrive tomorrow.

Anyhoo, it is advertised at Hyperfi for £249 (the green pages in What Hi-fi). I decided to pay the extra and go with Richer Sounds on the basis that I`ve bought loads of stuff from them over the years, but after the hassle I`ve had, I moght not bother in future.

It is however a very good system for under £300.

RE: Back To The Future £15.63

Can somebody recommend the best place to get the R1 version (ie price balanced against delivery time)?

RE: The Wicker man @ amazon.co.uk

Erm, not that I can see. Can you post a link, batavia?

RE: Star Trek - The Motion Picture (Directors Cut) 2 disc edition

I actually got the new 2 disc Wrath of Khan set from Ezy DVD delivered for £10.02. (Reg 4)

Futurama Offer

Last week there was a thread on here that told you how to get a free DVD with Futurama Season 2 from dvd.co.uk. Seems to have vanished. Any ideas?

RE: Cheapest Simpsons Season 2 R1.

I was thinking of buying from CD Wow, but got flashed a warning that I might have to pay tax on it. Does anybody know how much it would be? The prospect of paying £5/6 tax AND having to get it sent to my work `cause its a box set AND having to wait a month is making the prospect of nipping to WH Smiths today and buying it for £29.99 much more appealing.

Straw Dogs

Read in the newspaper that Straw Dogs has been passed for video release by the BBFC. I had a look at their web site:

http://www.bbfc.co.uk

Which refers to "a pre-cut American print of the film".

Does anyone know if the Region 1 DVD is "pre cut"?
