If you buy a gamecube from virgin megastore, HMV, or WHsmiths dont forget you can get an extra 10% off thats around £12 if your a student or know anyone kind enough to lend you there NUS card.

At least at HMV its not of hardware, Not sure anywhere else.
Do Whsmiths offer NUS discount, if so what on?

yeah 10% off hardware and all games,dvds,music cds, basically anything in the shop, hmv and virgin will do 10% off ps2 xbox and gamecube too.

In my day when I was a student (last year), they didn`t let you buy hardware with 10% discount (although I managed to persuade them to knock £20 off my Dreamcast with it) and WHSmiths never offered any form of discount to my knowledge.

WHSMITH started doing student discount just after last summer (you hence just missed it.) Do not get discount from their website, but expect for that they give you 10% off nearly anything. Including for example Gameboy Advance Console. Also Royal Bank of Scotland used to last year give 20% off HMV direct order (if place through them.) But again this year they changed to Virgin and now Virgin will only give discount to games, video, music, and dvd. No hardware :-(. About Virgin store well last year you had to spend £10 or more to get the discount but it seems this year you do not need to, or at least not enforing it,.
