RE: Venturer PVS 1223 portable DVD player Argos £39.99

I got the actual portable player (with the screen) and I would for the price difference go for the one with the screen. Not that difficult to connect, screen is not really that small, quite watchable, give you more options on how to watch the movie, took it to Birmingham and watch "HITCH" whilst there, And Brotherhood in the office when it was dead quiet one day. Best of all if ever have a powercut can use it on its battery to pass the boredom ;-D

BUSH DVD recorder 3003R how to finalise disc

RE: Ice Creams - 10p each at Tesco`s

RE: Ice Creams - 10p each at Tesco`s

Oh so when I went on Monday to Tesco and they were all gone someone like you came first and brought the whole freezer! :o :D But seriously £11.5 on ice cream a) isn`t that a bit excess even with 4 kids and also where the hell are you going to keep them all! Will need other freezer just to store them all nevermind other food :-)

RE: Cheap Items at New Store

Just to add when Maplin recently open in Swansea they did similar offers for the first day. But as you expect they won`t have like 300 TFT monitors there, only like 5.

Where is this place to Swansea, I bet far away as possible!

RE: Free O2 Prepay SIM on again - for those wanting to stock pile these things!

there is a big discussion of this on moneysavingexpert (if I don`t fall asleep after my bathe will post the URL to it.) But in summary alot of cards that came with the new "LEAF" design "allow" you to send SMS for free. "BUT" after a while if you do it, it gets block. And if you put money in it, it gets block as well and it is "TOUGH." So people are saying on there if you plan to use the simcard in the future for out going calls, ie topup than do not do the free text on it.

actually here is the url, and from there it got a link to digitalspy which you can read the whole dicussion of it all

RE: Hewlett Packard HP1219 3 in 1 Printer @ ALDI

the cheapest you can get it online (not including something like ebay) is £80 from place like amazon. Also I think Comet has it near that price and might be able to use a discount coupon to get it lower. Or if you need a digital camera (or have a friend/family) who need one, can get the Epson R300/Samsung A400 digtal camera package from ASDA for £149.99. Which can than spilt it between you both for say £75 each. Both getting a bargain than. Also have you look into the Canon IP4000 or Canon IP6000?

RE: full set of r200/r300 carts inc p&p £5.99

generally the answer will be yes, if you want to print like real photo quality. but some copies do a resonable job and when you take into account the savings, make it worth while.

RE: Epson R300 printer and Samsung A400 4MP camera bundle for £149......

Hi there, well it would not show the picture on the camera afterwards. If it did I would assume she did copy and paste. Oh I do not know but alas does not matter now the card arrive so using that instead now so no problems :-)

RE: Epson R300 printer and Samsung A400 4MP camera bundle for £149......

Hi I seen the bug at first hand last night. But it will be resolve soon. We would normally use a memory card but couple weeks ago I order a Canon IP6000 printer which completely died. So I have sent it back to Pixmania (in fact need to call them about it, ie where my replacement / refund.) Anyway what happens is this. She plugs the camera into the USB port and automically starts up the Samsung program which shows the photos. She than does cut, and paste to the directory she wants the photo to be place. But she than unplug the USB from the computer without closing the program. It seems if you do not close the program it keep the photos on the memory but make it inaccessible on the actual camera display. All you have to do is reconnect the camera, delete the photos from there, and than close the program and than unplug the camera. But anyway this will be solve today / tomorrow since I order a 1GB SDcard replacement. (since also with the printer I left my 528mb in the card slot! when I return it!!) doh!!

RE: Epson R300 printer and Samsung A400 4MP camera bundle for £149......

I would offer to buy the pack at my ASDA but I am already flatbroke in buying a new computer (waiting for the parts now) But I know the samsung and printer make it a very good deal. But if the macro is "very" important for you. Makro had a Samsung A600 I think it was (it is the next model above the A400 that allow you to go 3.5cm to the item. (the A400 goes as close as 5cm) It also has a opitcal viewfinder and 6megapixel in size. Cost £150

NB: There is a bug on the Samsung A400 if you do not use the card for photos and copy them over to your computer. I have to see how my wife does it, but if do it a certain way, than on the camera it shows no photos on display but if you try and take a photo it says full. Plug it into a computer and the pictures are there. Which I than delete for her. I think it might be she leave the samsung program on and unplug the camera afterward or the other way round. Will see tomorrow.

RE: [PC] Half Life 2 £17.99.

It can be, but not everyone care about the updates (esp if they have a 1GB or whatever download allowance a month) but also not everyone has a net to download it in the first place. I myself has stop playing games ages ago (well I still play every so often on the xbox, gamecube, dreamcast, etc. But I mean on PC.) but is there a way an non internet user can activate the game? When I get my new game I might get some games since I will get the other computer working and can play network games :-)

RE: Epson R300 printer and Samsung A400 4MP camera bundle for £149......

Hi there I would of posted this great bargain as well if it wasn`t for my computer blowing up three weeks ago :-(. Down at My ADSA store they had it just after I brought the Samsung A400 seperately at other bargain place. Since Makro is selling the Samsung A400 by itself for £90 at the moment. (Well it was 3.5 weeks ago but than the makro mail with the offer came out I think it was 1.5 weeks later.) The camera is very good as Mark has said and my wife love it to bits. (NB Mark do you live near Cardiff one ofthose pictures look like the bay inbetween cardiff and Barry?) Anyway it also comes with a case and two alkaline batteries. It also have many modes to take good photos and even tell you when it is too dark.

Well I have to dash to cardiff now but some of you want to see what the photos are like on the camera. Can check this site (it is my wife and I animals.) Only page 1 to 3 are from the camera. Page 4 is mostly from a phone and page 5 with us by the lion king statue is from a Kodak CX4000 which this is replacing.

RE: Sainsburys Mico R311 DVD Recorder - Now £49.99 (And some Home Theatre also)

out of curiosity what time did you get the last one in Bristol?

Also it seem the manager at sainsburys store in London is not that happy :-)

RE: Free O2 Sim Cards

you got it. Every month you must top up at least £10 a month to get the 300 sms. Now if you only do SMS than that £10 credit will just sit there. So the following month when you do the other top up, you will have a total call credit of £20. Than £30 the following month, £40 month after that, and so on. This will build up until you use them. It can be use as extra SMS (if for some reason you need more than 300 sms,) roaming, voice calls, etc. But what you can do (which i did when I had my simcard a while back before it got stolen) is put "bundles" on it. For example £9.99 bundle a month get you 100 minutes of anytime cross network calls. So for a grand total of £10 (forget the 1p) you get 300 sms and 100 cross anytime network calls. Or you can use £4.99 of it each month instead to get 250 minutes "OFFPEAK." cross network calls. and keep the £5.01 for future use

RE: Tevion 28" Flat Screen TV - Aldi

well I brought one this morning and much better than the Panasonic it is replacing! Colours are much clearner and brighter!. Also having it as widescreen is much better as well in watching things.

RE: The Muppet Show - 4 x dvd Box set £6.99 HMV

Which now they are all reserved :-(

RE: Repairing scratches on gamecube discs?

:-) that good news for you, post it back and see how it goes. At the end of the day you got nothing to lose.

One thing (just thought cause you are sending it back) I remember seeing a "repair job" using disc doctor machine . (the one you can buy for £29.99. And you can see it has been repair (or tried.) Doubtful in your case but is there any repair marks on it?

RE: Repairing scratches on gamecube discs?

the fact that the sliver is under the label is the problem. Since that label offer no real protection, hence if that gets scratch, than the data area is open to be cut away, which it seem happen in your case. think that a cd is about 1cm in thinkness, the bottom part is 0.8mm in size, than data is 0.1mm in size and the label covering is 0.1mm in size. Hence from that you can see what side is "the best" side to get damage out of the two. the bottom part which is thicker.

RE: Gamecube problem WEIRD

Where did you get those two pictures from? (if you did not make them?) Wonder what else the site have.

Anyway in relation to this topic, I got a gamecube (UK PAL version) if I brought the latest feeloader (which is?) would it play aminal crossing fine? since that is what I am planning on getting for my wife for her birthday in August. And it seem the UK release has been cancel from what I gather last :-(

RE: Repairing scratches on gamecube discs?

well you can still post it to me and I could try it, since the one on ebay (the one fom a second hand game shop correct) (saw that last night myself) use a different machine to the one I got. Normally it is repairable as long as the "top" part has not been damage. If you put the disc to a light and you can see light coming through than that is a toaster. About advertise on Ebay, well next month will start doing that, and around here in swansea as well.

Anyway if it is the top bit that is damage it might be worth buying these "guards" and put them on the top of the discs. So that way it give it some protection if your boy does it again.

RE: Repairing scratches on gamecube discs?

I just brought one of those perfectplay (Azuradisc) machine to repair my dvd rental / games at my Post Office. If you are willing to post it down here I could repair it for you.

oops forgot to put where I am located (but you can find me on the perfectplay website.)

We are in Swansea, Brondeg Post Office, Manor Road, Manselton, Swansea, SA5 9PD

RE: Cheap International Calls (PAYG, No PrePay, use at work, home or mobile!)

Oh Diverse you remind me of all the other ppl who "ADVERTISE" their number in the uk.telecom newsgroup And the thing is they do not even realise they are the ppl who know!. But assuming you are doing what you are saying.. Well I am going to advertise some other services as well

http://www.telediscount.co.uk (ppl give this one a week cause the site got hack on the weekend.) But that is generally much cheaper.
http://www.call18866.co.uk/
http://www.qxtelecom.co.uk/qxdial/
http://www.pre-dial.com/
http://www.pulver.com/fwd/
http://www.just-dial.com/pages/agents.asp
http://www.callthrough.tk/ (it is my site and now very outdated, but can give you url to some operators.)

Also a tip for people 02 leisure tariff work to 0870 / 0844 / 0845. Everyday 50 on orange work for 0845 / 0870. Videotalk should not work but does work to 0870 / 0845.

Also 0871 is not 9.2p it is 10p a minute, the 9.2p is Exc Vat Also it is against T&C of just-dial to advertise in a non advertise newsgroup ie like this. as is uk.telecom newsgroup. Oh I can`t be brother now. Just to say did a quick search on the forum and it seem this is your first post whereas Doraemon has posted a message in October., I wasn`t goin to say anything but than saw your outburst to doraemon which made have to reply as a fellow uk.telecom newsgroup reader. Also Clayst it might be a good idea to close this disucssion cause if the "hardline" get to see this, hell would break lose. (well maybe not but just being on the safe side.)

RE: Request - Where`s A Good Place To Get The New Gameboy From?

tomorrow I am going to be flying out to italy so I can check how much it also cost at the airport (duty free)? if cheap than when I come back the following week I will be in uk for one day and than flying out again and can buy it for you? but in reality unless you live near me might not be worth it (unless you are going to fly out soon yourself?)
