Nintendo cuts Gamecube price to £129
Interesting news from Ananova :
Nintendo has countered Microsoft`s Xbox price cut by lowering the price of the Gamecube to £129.
The machine launches across Europe on May 3.
The company says the new price will offer the consumer an unbeatable deal.
Nintendo has backed up its price cut with the claim that it has already received 30,000 pre-orders.
Nintendo Europe managing director David Gosen said: "This is a very strong offer for consumers, one we believe will ensure Nintendo`s success across Europe."
Last week, Microsoft lowered the UK recommended retail price for the Xbox to £199 after reports of disappointing sales.
Nintendo had shipped approximately 4 million units to Japan and North America by the end of March.
