Page 1 of New Xbox Dashboard...

Oh how spiffy. I haven`t touched my xbox in ages (when did GTA 4 come out?) . Ability to copy games to hard drive? That cuts out most of the noise from the JET ENGINE DVD drive.

Obviously if you know where to get it and install u also know no Live until 19th November when it is officially released.

Anyone else got it? Any cool features?

nah, i`ll wait until the 19th (or thereabouts) before i bother with it.

i`d imagine the LIVE servers will be busy around that date!!

there were a load of disgruntled yanks who were bitching because
they didn`t manage to get the beta which was released on a limited
basis a few days ago....some even wishing the RRoD on those who
were successful in getting the trial early.....sad acts >:(

personally, i`m looking forward to the HDD loading, i`ll have to invest in
either a 60 or 120GB drive though :(

They will be doing an upgrade pack due for release on the 19th. It has a 60GB HDD, headset, 3 months gold and LAN cable. It will retail at about £60 I think. I will try and find a link.

Will games load quicker or will the 360 just be quieter?

Never really noticed or been bothered by the sound personally. All the talk on here a while back got me interested in trying to update my old school Xbox, but I`m no longer to fussed by doing that anymore as I`ve never filled my tiny hard drive with anything so it`s a bit excessive just to have it in black!

the dvd drive on some 360`s is stupidly noisy, my sons is obtrusive but nowhere
near as noisy as my original 360.

i`ve got my daughter a new 60GB 360 for christmas, it`ll be interesting to
hear if that is any quieter than Luke`s.

I`m not sure if it`s because I have my TV loud, but I`ve never noticed the noise from the Xbox 360 as being anything significant. :/

the 360 is the loudest console i`ve ever heard...

the PS2 is quiet, the original xbox quiter still and the gamecube is near silent.

Seriously I`d say mine is no louder than my original xbox, could be that I do have the volume louder but it`s definitely not intrusive, even when playing late at night and I have the tv on quiet
