I`ve got a red ring :-(

And it wasn`t even a bedroom game gone wrong...!

Just registered the fault with Microsoft, anyone got any clue when I can expect to play my beloved 360 again...? I could probably find the answer, but I`m lazy.

If you registered the fault through their unfathomably s***ty website, never.

If you called them and they have sent you the labels, you`ll be lucky to get it before christmas.

Mine took a calendar month and I got it back last friday.

They sent it back to my home address, rather than the work address they picked it up from, without sending me an email or calling me, despite having all my contact details. To add insult to injury, the first I knew it had been sent back, the lady from next door knocked at my door and gave it to me as f***ing UPS had left it with her.

Lucky she is a nice person, or I would never have seen the f***er again.

Basically, the service is a shambles on every level except for their call center staff who are ok. The f***ing website, for a software company, is just a disgrace.

/deep breath....

Where did you buy it from?

I remember seeing from people that if you bought it from the shop you don`t even have to go through all that and can just go exchange it there?

Bought at a boot sale.
Calling them now, they want it sent via UPS to Havant... from my house 5 minutes away...

Convinced them to let me drop it off, taking it tomorrow. Oooh... penalty in the football!

Just fallen victim to the 3 red flashing lights of death myself :(

I wasn`t aware of the warranty extension, so was chuffed to bits as my unit is 13 months old.
Call centre woman was great, even if I was an arse myself (xbox deprivation can be a horrible thing to witness), and the email regarding the UPS collection labels was received within the hour.
A bit of a p*sser that my console will be a way for a month, but hey, I`m off to OZ within that time, so I`ve dug out my old PS2 in the meantime.

During my conversation with the call centre, a `free` gift was mentioned. Anyone know what that entails?

Sweet!

I had a bit of bother lat year with a [third party] battery pack melting my wireless controller. I don`t know if it was down to a case of the left hand not knowing what the right hand was doing, but I ended up with 4 new controllers and two new [official] battery packs from microsoft, and my money back from the original retailer of the tp battery pack :)
