Sony unveils new PSP handheld console

The ongoing revamped E3 show has played host to the launch of a new revision of Sony`s handheld console, the PSP. According to Shacknews, the refresh will have a longer-lasting battery than its predecessor, and it will also have a thinner profileĀ—19% slimmer, to be exact, which together with a 33% lighter frame should make the handheld console quite a bit more portable. The Shack also says Sony has added video output support to the new PSP. It`s not clear what type of outputs or resolutions will be supported, but Sony has reportedly said the new PSP will be compatible with its own Bravia line of high-definition TVs.
The new PSP will be available in black or silver and as part of the PSP Entertainment Pack, which the Shack says will include "an ice silver PSP, Ready At Dawn`s action-platformer Daxter, a 1GB memory stick, a collection of UMDs, and Family Guy Frickin` Sweet collection." The PSP Entertainment Pack is scheduled to launch in September with a price tag of $199.99.

I`ll look out for the Uk launch of this little beauty. Could just tempt me to buy a PSP now if the price is right...
