ditto on the xbox, theres loads of games out for it & unless there`s something thats specific to the ps2, the xbox generally kicks the ps2`s arse gfx wise.

BUT given the cost of second hand ps2`s & the argos xbox offer, theres nowt stopping you getting both ;)

I`m not sure how good Fifa 07 is for the Xbox/PS2 but worth noting that you can only get Pro Evolution Soccer 6 for the PS2 as it hasn`t been released for the Xbox.

If you prefer the real kits etc on Fifa to Pro Evolution then I`m not sure if you know you can download an option file which updates all the correct team and players names and actually does all the badges and sponsors etc for the kits.

All you need to put the option file is a maxdrive (about £12.99 from play I think).

Yeah, but you could always do what I did and buy PES5 for a tenner new, then get an updated file off ebay for £3. Bingo! A better game than Fifa07 if ever I saw one.

It looks like that`s gone up in price. It was £50 last time I looked too. Still, the pack underneath is £80 with 4 games, and I paid that for the system on it`s own in May. I`m not kidding you it`s worth every penny. I`ve just started playing Half Life 2 on it, and it is utterly incredible. And if it`s Fifa07 you simply must have, then the Xbox version is the best.

From past experience though, the PS2 is a fine console even now. If you do get one, pick up Okami and let us know what you think. :)

I am a Fifa man, 2003 was good then it was poor for a bit but 07 is quality. So, ignoring the PES v Fifa argument, is Fifa really better on the XBOX and why is it? has anyone played it on both?

I am used to playing it on PC.

Thanks for all the advice so far :)

While we`re on the subject of differences between the three versions of FIFA 07, there really aren`t too many that are worthy of note. The PS2 game suffers from noticeable slowdown on occasion (especially when playing in widescreen), which the other two rarely do. A unique feature of the PS2 game`s manager mode is that it boasts connectivity with the PlayStation Portable version. The handheld game`s manager mode boasts all of the features found in the PS2 game, and transferring the data between the two consoles takes only a few seconds. The PS2 game does support progressive scan, but doesn't look nearly as good as the Xbox version in 720p if you're in a position to take advantage of it. The PC game`s controls are the most customizable but don`t let you re-create those of Konami`s Pro Evolution Soccer (Winning Eleven outside of Europe) series perfectly, while the Xbox game uses its controller`s badly positioned black and white buttons to perform some important functions, like chip shots. Where those of you playing FIFA 07 on a PC are really going to miss out is the lack of a FIFA Lounge mode, which remains one of the most enjoyable ways to play the game if you`re in a room with up to seven of your friends, although some questionable changes have been made to the feature this year.

It`s also worth bearing in mind that Fifa 08 will probably make it to the PS2, while an Xbox version is highly unlikely. Truth be told, you can`t go wrong with any current-gen console, as even if your priority is Fifa, they`ve all got a great back catalogue of games.

The Xbox version (not 360) will feature better graphics and movement over the PS2 version, particularly so if you have an RGB lead, which I would recommend. Not only that, but I`ll wager the controller will be better suited to the Fifa style of play. While the PS2 pad is arguably better for PES, the Xbox one is better for Fifa.

Honestly, I`m no console zealot, but I`ve had all 3 current systems and the Xbox is by far and away the best. Do bear in mind though, that, unlike the PS2, new releases are going to dry up considerably for the Xbox. Microsoft are rather aggresively trying to get their customers to buy the 360. Fat chance from my point of view, but there it is.

Luckily, the back catalogue of games for the Xbox is incredible, so when you get bored of Fifa, you`ll have a ton of cheapies to pick up off the net! If you need some help, there`s a couple of threads around here discussing Xbox matters, and we`ll be only too glad to help.
