XBOX 360 Core System?

purct (Harmless) posted this on Wednesday, 26th April 2006, 12:37

Hi,

I am thinking of buying an XBOX 360 but I am not sure if I should buy the Premium or Core System? What I need to know is if I buy the core system, can I purchase a USB Hard Disk instead of buying the very low storage XBOX 360 20GB disk? I have found some details on the internet that say I can connect a USB Disk to the XBOX 360, so I would I want the 20GB Disk as well? I am missing the point ? If I were to go with the core system and then buy a USB 100GB USB disk could I still run the older x-box games etc.

Many Thanks

for saving your xbox 360 games and playing old xbox games you need a proper XBox360 Hard drive, you can attach a "normal" one, but that is for reading mp3s etc, not for use with games.

so basically, you may as well buy the premiumn one, `cos you`d have to buy a memory card for the basic one anyway.

you can use a "normal" usb one but there are some problems with a lot of models that you can read the data from but not write to. its the same with ipods. the xpox can read the data but not write to it

There`s no harddrives that the 360 can write to as far as i`m aware. So that "a lot of models" should infact be "all models"? :P
