Xbox Live confusion..

Ok, please someone explain a couple of things to me about Xbox Live. First what is the point of the gamer score? I just can`t see it`s purpose. Second to buy something from the Marketplace you need points. How do I accumilate points? Do I have to buy them using a pre-paid card?

Your gamer score is for other people online to see what games you play and how good you are, or if you have a massive gamer score people know you game a lot and therefor are probably experienced, as for the credits you can buy these at any game store stocking 360 goodness, then purchase demos, trailers skins, gamer tiles etc from the Live Marketplace

The gamerscore is also a bragging rights thing. For example, I`m very proud of having 2500 odd gamerpoints and my husbands mnates having only about 1000. mHaving the points also means you can see what your mates or third parties have manged to do in a particular game.

It`s just a bit of fun and allows you to prove that your better than your mates at a particualr game or overall.
