What is the greatest multiplayer game eveeeer! (and im talking face to face. So no Counterstrikes. And if you want quake or unreal, DC PS2 or x-box versions, please)

I reckon its

2) Streetfighter 2 Turbo SNES
3) Supermario kart SNES
4) Target Renegade Spectrum
5) Speedball 2 Amiga
6) PES2 PS2
7) Sensible Soccer 97/98 Amiga
8) Re-Volt Revolution Dreamcast
9) Mario Tennis N64
10) Tekken 2 playstation

Goldeneye, for me is the winner because it was the first 'proper' FPS on a console. With a brilliant array of weapons and levels you could just play it for hours and hours. I chose it over perfect dark (basically bond with lasers) because of Goldeneye's initial 'WOW' factor. Who could resist 'Temple, Heavy weapons, no odd job and no guarding the body armour'. Class.

Gotta say Mario Kart 64 and Goldeneye on N64 - also Micro Machines on PS1 was a good larf in it`s day and Virtua Tennis on Dreamcast was and still is superb.

I cant believe I forgot about micro machines on the PS! 2 people on one joypad madness! It was so good you would wonder why all the sequels were rubbish…….

Heathens!!! Super Bomberman 2 of course!!!

More recently though I`d say Halo, Burnout or Delta Force (when the original first came out we had all day LAN sessions on computers at the Uni!) :)

Ohhhhhh North and South.... how damn fantastic was that game! Also big up to Bomberman and Micro Machines!

My first real multiplayer joys came courtesy of linking up two Amigas - Stunt Car Racer is still the best head-to-head driving fun I can remember!

Also used to have some truly fantastic four-player shareware games - some sort of tanks game and a snake game spring to mind - amazing how the simplest ones are usually the most fun!

Worms when it first came out was a classic, used to waste hours on that!

Wow! theres so many i forgot! Bomber man was freakin excellent! Worms 4 player was one of the best things ever and i totally agree that stunt car racer head to head was one of lifes finer things. Who can forget trying to do the

Like the diagram nickthegun! God yeah, that jump was such a pain in the bum! I got Stunt Car Racer nostalgia syndrome a while back, and I managed to find a copy for the PC - inferior graphics to the Amiga, but still a class game. Unfortunatley I couldn`t figure out which key made you accelerate!

thanks. Its a bit of an arseache trying to do any ascii style stuff. They wont let you have more than one space and FEAR the backslash in case you are trying any sneaky html. But that jump would have tested the patience of the gods.
