According to ign.com F1 2002 for gamecube is actually a revamped version of F1 2001 on PS2 and therefore not the F1 2002 found on PC, Xbox or PS2. Has anyone else heard this.

yup, thas true and i am glad it is coz the 2001 is actually better than the actual 2002 on ps2 and xbox, even the framerate is a lot better
