Dreamcast Samba de Amigo help!!

raptor93 (Harmless) posted this on Monday, 22nd July 2002, 00:02

Does anyone know where I can buy a copy of PAL Samba de Amigo for the Dreamcast (with or without the maracas) at a more reasonable price than on eBay? (less than £100) I`m looking for a new or used copy. I have been looking for this game for a long time, I didn`t realise it would be so hard to find. Any help anyone could give me would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Why do you want the Pal version, its a lot easier to get a hold of the Jap or US versions of this game, just use a DC boot disc to load it.

The Pal version of this game was only available online from Sega and would imagine not too many copys were sold as we are a bit shy about prancing around the livingroom with a pair of marraccas listening to the Macarena, although i admit i was one who did.....think i lost about 3 stone in the 4 months when i had them.

I decided to trade them in one day, after convincing a couple of my mates that dancing around with marraccas was a fun way to play computer games, then watching them play the game made me realise what a complete Twat i was making of myself.

This is a really fun and addictive game, but it gets a bit worrying when you start to play it sober.

You have to get this game if you own a dreamcast as its an absolute classic - if only sega hadn`t charged so much for it in the first place then there may have been a few more copies floating around with those lovely official maracas! I recently got myself set up with this and this is how I reckon you do it.

http://www.cex.co.uk have maracas in stock sometimes at around £75 but I opted for the third party option and ordered mine direct from EMS which came to about £30 including super fast delivery. Having never played with the original maracas I can`t really compare them but they seem reasonable enough. Occasionaly they ignore the sensor but still fun and a much cheaper option. Lik-Sang do the same model of maracas as well.

You may be able to get a pal copy of the game from someone advertising back-ups on ebay - if not then I`d go for the US game which I`ve seen as low as $19 on ebay.

Hope this helps and good luck because its well worth it!!

Thanks everyone for your help, and all your suggestions. Aggassi do you know if its still available at your Bolton Gamestation as I have phoned the number on their website but was told that it wasn`t in stock at any of their stores (mind you, they laughed and said I`d never find it so I`m not sure if he did search for it or not!). Is Gamestation where you saw it available for £7 without the maracas aswell?

Have to admit I gave gamestation a ring after reading that post and the guy in the bolton store said he`d just sold a copy of the game with maracas for £85. Sounds like they`ve wised up to how much it costs. Have to keep your eyes peeled at cash converters etc.
