today my R1 version of Et arrived.In all the reviews it said that only the 2002 version was included.But on the second dvd you can play the original version.It also is writin on the disc( origianal theatric version). Dont know if it is the same on the R2 version. cc

I think this is true of all the versions. At the last minute, the 2-disc sets got the original as well as the 2002 release. Thus, anyone who bought the 4 disc super deluxe (and expensive) box set (like me) who isn`t fussed about extras, but thought this was the only way they were going to get the original movie is not exactly happy. [Having said that the 4 disc set ain`t bad].

Not sure about that. afaik, R2 2 disc set is not having original version.

according to bbc teletext the special edition of et with both versions is out in the uk on the 27 dec,also the r1 cheaper disc only got both because spielberg put is foot down with the studio and they backed down its just a same he does not care about the rest of us.
