In general, early DTS releases contain a DTS soundtrack and a Pro-Logic soundtrack - Dolby Digital 5.1 can`t usually be squeezed onto the disc as well.

Newer DTS releases, such as the forthcoming Fox R1 re-releases, and T2, Titan AE etc have DTS, Dolby Digital 5.1 and Dolby Surround. This is usually achiebed by reducing the bitrate of the DTS soundtrack to free up some space on the disc. Despite the reduction in bitrate, DTS is stll less compressed than Dolby Digital 5.1 and generally sounds better.

If you`ve listening through a Pro-Logic TV and not using Dolby Digital, you will be ok, although you will need to set the DTS disc to playback the Dolby Surround track or you`ll get silence.

Thanks for the help.

I just wanted to be certain that i would get some sound before i purchase Interview with the Vampire R1. Which according to play247 only has a dts sound track.

Thanks again. :-)
