Planet Of The Apes

Does anyone know the difference (if any) between the Region-1 and Region-2 versions of "Planet Of The Apes" ?

According to play247.com the Region-1 feature time is 124 mins, whereas the Region-2 version is 115 mins. Is that a typo on the 247 website or does the USA have a longer film?

Thanks.

When comparing R1 (NTSC) and R2 (PAL) discs you have to take PAL speedup into consideration. PAL discs run 4% faster than the NTSC equivalents, so POTA will have a shorter feature time.

That said, the theatrical length of POTA was 119 minutes, so unless the R1 disc contains a director`s cut (which it doesn`t), Play have made a mistake.

The UK disc has a running length of 115 minutes, which works out right. All times are approximate.

There is no difference between the versions, and what Chris said about PAL vs. NTSC is perfectly true, and the R2 version is 115 minutes because I timed it, and the R1 is not a `director`s cut`. For more info, check my R2 review.

Off Track RANT.
Having watched the R2 version at the weekend you can safely assume that R1 will be just as crap as the R2 version. LOL.

Harry66, your weekend was as bad as mine then. All good until THAT movie went in to my player. :-)
