More fr***in` Star Wars DVDs next year?

I don`t know if you`ve seen this already, but I`ve been on hols and just got back. It seems like speculation for the most part, but if it`s true I think it`s a pretty poor show tbh.

EDIT: It`s further down the page, sorry.

So, it looks like Lucas is going to be tinkering again, in spite of the fact that he has previously said that the 2004 set was his final vision for the series, and no more changes would be made.

Not only that, but he`s also p*ssing around with the prequels too, in an effort to present something worth the asking price yet again. Personally, I don`t care too much about paying for a CGI Yoda in Phantom Menace, because that was realised fully in the following 2 movies, and will add nothing to the movie. Yoda doesn`t even move in The Phantom Menace, so what`s the point in making him CGI? He just sits in a chair!!

I love Star Wars dearly, and have even defended his changes to the series, but a new set every frickin` year takes the serious p*ss, and I`ll be sticking with what I own already. What a bunch of freeloaders there are at Lucasfilm....how disappointing. Makes me glad I own a bootleg OOT too.

Remember its just a rumour. ;)

Oh, and if Lucas has decided to replace Yoda in TPM, then that can only be a good thing in all honesty.

Giggity giggity!

Zzzzzzzz... just what we all want, more bloody Star Wars dvds. And it`ll be the same again next year when the HD/Blu-Ray discs come about. George Lucas should get up off his fat arse and approve one of the many scripts for the new Indiana Jones movie instead of p***ing around with films he should have moved on from years (if not decades) ago...

So there...

Sorry if this topic`s bored some of you. I can understand the reaction, but I just had to have a rant!

Well, they say there`s no smoke without fire, and on the Sith extra`s, McCallum talks about Lucas`s further tinkering, so I`ll bet they`ve got something planned. But my hope is that they wait a respectful amount of time before they indulge their "meddling arts".

I don`t really intend on buying any further SW DVDs myself, but I think it`s really disrespectful tbh the way the Star Wars saga is progressing so far on DVD. Even as a rabid fan I find it hard to support this notion that people, not just fans, will rush out and buy every new edition.

Finish it, George, so we can all move on please. Endless changes to CGI still aren`t going to fix most people`s main complaints about the movies. Namely, naff dialogue, and stilted, wooden performances. Whether Yoda is a puppet or CGI in TPM is neither here nor there I reckon.

Sorry again folks. :/

These new dvds are in addition to the 3D version that will be released in a few years.

Thats enough LUCAS !!!!!!.

You`ve proved your point by giving us the ultimate story of a galaxy far far away,Which i must admit i have followed since my childhood upto the birth of my own child (well nearly only 5 weeks away).
George Lucas created a magical fantasy for most people of my age,the anticipated release of ROTS was huge everybody talking about what could be or what should be it was just like when Empire was first released.
Now he just wants to feed off us fans by tampering with every movie in the saga so we have to buy the latest version,Wasn`t the tagline "the saga is now complete" when ROTS was released ?.

I never thought i would say it but..................Star wars must now be laid to rest

Glad to see someone agrees with me anyway. My hope really is that the saga is now complete. I love the 2004 set, and the prequels on DVD, and I want to move on from it. I won`t be buying this years set (already have the LD rips) and certainly won`t be happy if I`m asked to fork out for an all-singing, all-dancing boxset next year. If he just wants to repackage them, fine. Put them in a big box set. But if there`s to be continued meddling, count me out.
