Father Ted series 1 region 2 - poor quality?
Does anyone else own the Father Ted Series 1 region 2 DVD and think it is really poor quality? The patterned wallpaper in the main room appears to flash and quite alot of the other colours are flashing between light and dark. I had a similar, but much worse effect on Trainspotting. I took it back to the shop as it was still apparent on someone elses player.

Mines fine as well. I`m running it on a Aiwa 370 though which is known for its good picture quality. What player are you using?

I`m using the Wharfedale M5. This disc was the first I owned, so I couldn`t decide whether it was the disc or player. I also had trouble with Trainspotting but that showed up poorly on a friends setup too. I guess the next stop is to ask the same person to look at this one too.

Haven`t seen the Wharfedale M5 myslef but if it plays DVDs with a poor picture take it back. Father Ted hasn`t been out that long - 6 weeks or so, maybe the shop where you bought your player will let you exchange it.

Plays very well on my sc2000.
Mate of mine bought the r1 as it came out earlier and there is no differences in quality.
Hope this helps

Hmm..have juts watched a couple of Series 2 - Part 1 and I can definitely see some sort of flicker and it often seems as if the brightnes dims occasionally. Mind you, it`s such a great programme I can forgive a little transfer problem.

Sound like your all getting the same as i do on S-video or sky on scart 2. Switched my DVD to RGB on scart1 and fixed it. Could be similair symptons different problem though so dont quote me. :-)
