niteowl (Elite) posted this on Wednesday, 23rd August 2006, 16:47

Anyone purchased from Amazon.com (usa). ?

The the £ being strong and also the dvd box set being much cheaper there, I wonder if and how it works if I purchase from UK for UK delivery?

Cheers

I have purchased a few discs from Amazon USA(i have the United 93 2 disc set on pre-order at the moment). It doesnt usually work out cheaper than Play or CD Wow because you have to pay postage so I normally only bother if they are selling something that no-one else seems to be,United 93 a case in point.

That is only the normal 1 disc edition.Amazon USA is the only place that I have found that is selling the 2 disc limited edition.

I was thinking of getting "Everybody loves Raymond" series 3 (and maybe 4) for a mate` birthday - $71 for the 2 or $35 each. UK have the 3 series for £20.97 (cheapest I`ve seen it).

I`ll probably end up getting it from UK for speed of delivery. But would consider USA for other stuff. How do you work out the postage and do you end up paying US tax or Duty?

Don`t know how the delivery service is in the UK, but I preordered Life on Mars and received the dvd set, in the US mind you, on the streetdate of 15 May. It was shipped out on 11 May. It must have hit all the connections to get to California in four days.

....and you thought life was tough
