Warrior King

Went to see Warrior King last night. Good show, perhaps not as jaw-droppingly spectacular as parts of Ong-Bak were, but still pretty goddamn impressive.

As usual the "storyline" was pretty woeful, the acting pretty awful (in fact the worst performances were turned in by the Australian actors. I mean jesus, i can understand that a martial arts expert may not have acting skills, but all the Australian guys had to do was act in their own language.).

This director amuses me greatly. He is in turns brilliant and god awful. Some of the action sequences were very impressively shot, but when he has to do anything else, he is completely out of his depth, and it shows.

Also, the picture quality was terrible. I`ve heard complaints about grainy-ness in "Miami Vice", just wondering if anyone has seen both films and can compare.

Just realised this is the other title given to Tom Yum Goong. I have the (Korean) R3 dvd, and the video quality of that is pretty lamentable. I prefer the film to Ong Bak though, if only because it has none of that `let`s see that one again` syndrome slowing the action down.

I think Tom Yum Goong (sorry The Warrior King, horrible title), is proof you can make a film and rely totally on the fights. The film is bad. The fights are absolutely amazing.
Alot better than Ong-Bak in my opinion.

You say pyscho like its a bad thing
