CSI - Timeline help needed :)

MADTheOgster (Elite Donator) posted this on Tuesday, 3rd January 2006, 21:56

i`m just getting into csi, i`ve got the first 3 seasons of the original csi (just starting to watch season 3) & have got season 1 of both miami & new york coming, at the end of csi season 2 there is an episode which basicaly just introduces you to the miami branch, so should miami start alongside season 3 of the original ? also i can only find season 1 of csi new york for sale so i`m assuming there are only one maybe two seasons of that so far ? & would i be right in thinking the original csi is upto season 6 (currently airing ?)

this might help

I don`t think it has spoilers in episode guides so you might be able to tie up the series (you don`t think you are worrying too much??)

Correct! The first season of CSI Miami aired alongside season 3 of the Las Vegas one.

CSI: New York is only mid-way through its second season. The pilot was another crossover - the penultimate episode of CSI: Miami season two, called MIA/NYC - Nonstop.

And, yes CSI is in its 6th season now.

Welcome the the wonderful world of CSI!!! I tell everyone I know that it`s fantastic :D

Vegas is still my favourite, but Miami and NY are both well worth watching.

If you like those, you may want to look out for Numb3rs on ITV and the fantastic Cold Case (when it starts up again this month on Sky One) - both pretty good detective shows.

so i watch miami now, (with s3 of LA) & NY alongside season 5 ? :)

not bothered about spoilers to much as it`s not really that type of series, but the timelines could be important to keep stuff in context, you see, i made this mistake with buffy & angel, i wouldn`t watch them for ages because the original buffy movie was one of my all time trash faves, (one of those films you know is awful, but love it anyway) & never gave the series a proper chance, only after both buffy & angel finished did i get into them, & i watched all the buffy`s then all the angels, & the crossovers are bloody hard to get your head around when watched out of order :D

so i`m watching 1 ep of csi,la season 3 then 1 ep of csi, miami, season 1, assuming thats they way they would have aired ;)

Apart from the pilots, none of the episodes from any of the series cross over, unlike Buffy/Angel

Yeah, the only crossovers they have are to introduce a new spinoff. In fact there is so little character development and so few ongoing story arcs that you can watch the shows in virtually any order, which is why the re-runs are so popular. For me the only defining thing in the timescale is Grissoms beard and

SPOILER:
The death of Speedle in Miami

Miami and Vegas vie constantly for No.1 spot. Just when i think its Vegas, Miami comes up with the goods. Last nights episode on five was excellent as were the tarantino season finales on vegas. Horatio is great in Miami but Vegas is more of an Ensemble thing. Everyone gets their time in the sun.

NY is hitting its stride now, though. The colour scheme they use for this one is very dour and wintery. It makes things seem very claustrophobic. And Gary Sinese kicks ass!

Like I said, the beauty of it is that you can virtually close your eyes and pick a disc at random and you will be able to watch it and enjoy everything.

Have the tarantino CSIs been repeated on Living yet? I keep series linking them with Sky, but turn it off whenever things get full up so I might have missed it.. Curse you Sky+ I`ve got a massive blaxploitation backlog to catch up with..

I dont think so. Although i only tend to watch the ones on at 11 at the moment (in bed as im drifting off). And im seriously reconsidering this as the sheilas wheels ads are crazy frog-esque in their sheer f***ing annoyingness.

those sheila`s wheels things are utter tit aren`t they.. not good.
Still, at least they are not that horrible many headed head thing that the BBC was using during december.. That was freakier than your sigs.. What happened to the mack panda?

Anyone watch numb3rs? I think its really good, but no one I speak to about it has ever seen it.. mind you, that goes for Oz, Curb, Larry Sanders, Arrested Development, and anything else thats any good on t`telly..
