"Titanic" Limited Edition

Batavia (Elite) posted this on Monday, 7th November 2005, 14:58

I haven`t seen this at Play, etc. Managed to get it (numbered) from Virgin for £19.99. It is the remastered one, but a 5 disc version. The fifth disc being "Ghosts of the Abyss", which is available separately.
Only got it for the Limited Edition (yea, sure) aspect of it.
At least "Titanic" is now anamorphic.
And, yes, I do like it as a film, though Kate Winslett looks more like Leonardo`s mother in it.

Well I`ll go one further - I love it!
I know it`s become "un-cool" and you`re not meant to... but so what! >:(

I`m quite excited by this new release - I saw an advert for it saying it has an alternate ending - the bit they showed looked like (oo, better put this in a spoiler just in case): SPOILER:
she gives Bill Paxton "The Heart Of The Ocean" at the end - it was only a brief clip though.

Any websites/details on the alternate ending?

Haven`t watched it yet so can`t say about the alternate ending (no jokes, please, too obvious).
Still think it is a damn fine film though, and the sinking just gob-smacking. The storyline didn`t belittle the human tragedy of the disaster one bit.

Looking around I found that this 5 disc Limited Edition is exclusive to Virgin.

I picked the 5 disc set up in Virgin (for £9.99, thanks to me mate who always stamps up the addict cards for me :D ).

Last time I saw the film I didn`t like it at all (saw it twice in the cinema, loved it first time and hated the second time... and this is when Titanic was the "cool film" of the moment).

But I`m a huge admirer of James Cameron`s other work, so if nothing else I`d like to see Ghosts of the Abyss and the extras on Titanic (commentary most!).

Hopefully nearly 8 years of having not seen the film will have done it some good (was it really that long ago? :/ )

Has anyone watched this yet ??

I got mine yesterday, and am just looking at it now and it looks like the 29 deleted scenes are just on a separate disc and not put back into the film.

I`ll be absolutely gutted if this is the case.

On his Abyss and T2 discs, he used the seamless branching option to either put the scenes back into the film or not depending on the choice you took. If he hasnt done this on his biggest film of all time then Cameron needs his head read.

Anyone ??

I am afraid it has been known for awhile now that the Deleted Scenes wouldnt be part of the film, early specs listed them as being branched into the film but that was before the film got spread across 2 discs and even then it wasent going to be branching in the form of Abyss and T2, more like The Matrix where a symbol would appear which you would press to play the deleted scene.
