Page 1 of Hollywood remaking another Asian flick. (Infernal Affairs)

Went along to Blockbuster today and got Infernal Affairs 1+2. Watched the the first (very very good) and went over to IMDB to read some trivia on it. Types in Infernal Affairs and amongst the results list is The Departed (2006) aka Infernal Affairs.

Now usually i would be very sceptical of another Asian/hollywood remake ala The Ring, The Grudge, Dark Water and so on, but The Departed has me a little bit curious as Mr Scorsese himself is at the Helm.

Iv`e loved everything he has done until with the exception of The Aviator as i aint seen it yet. He seems to be loving Leo at the minute coz he is taking on one of the lead roles again. Is he Scorsese`s new De Niro?

Anyways let me know what you make of it.

I heard Brad Pitt had bought the rights to remake it in the US.

Personally anything else would be a let down - the HK flick is so so good, it would be hard to beat. I love the whole scene with the morse code.

DiCaprio is Scorsese`s new De Niro it appears, and The Departed has been on the card for ages too. Looking forward to it myself, think Matt Damon is also signed up to it isn`t he?
