Page 1 of Quantum Leap fans (Season 2 box set)

Hi guys,

For months now I`ve been holding out on buying the Quantum Leap Season 2 boxset because of all of the original music that has been removed by Universal for the DVD release. Still, as a big fan of the show I feel like I still want the set...

Any other QL fans out there who would say yay or nay to the Season 2 box set?

sorry Brian missed this original query-I`ve got the reg one and there are some `musac inserts` -there`s a website somewhere that tells you which bits. Overall I still really enjoyed it
as the show was such good fun.

The R1 releases are up to season 3 and I have them all.
It was either put up with the music alterations or watch them again on my original BBC2 VHS recordings.

Nostalgiadvd, I`m not sure whether you prefer the DVDs, or your VHSs. ;)

Sue, I read your review but wasn`t sure if you were a big QL fan or not, as you didn`t seem too bothered with the changes. ;) I remember I used to watch it religiously in my early teens. But frankly as much as I love the show, I`d rather not buy Season 2/3 if they are butchered as badly as soon people are saying. Overall, still worth even if the music edits are annoying?

Sorry I obviously had sat on the fence too much-just to confirm yes I am a big fan, yes the missing music was annoying(after all they could have tried harder and replaced tracks with similar instead of the bland stuff, but yes, yes I love Sam he is my hero! You can borrow mine if you want( though I want him back!!)

I prefer the dvd`s.
The music alterations were obvious in season 2,but if thats what it takes to see the show in dvd quality rather than VHS quality then so be it.
When selected episodes were released on VHS in the 90`s,it was always said that complete season releases were out of the question due to music rights,so at least we have it in some form.
Apart from the first screenings on BBC2(most of those were uncut),all the repeats on BBC2 and UK Gold etc have all had edits of some form,usually the link into the next episode,so we should be happy with what we have

Maybe of interest - ITV3 are showing QL from the start, daily beginning Monday 2nd January. New music or old? Watch and find out!

I have read that the UK Season 2 Boxset has the original music, is this true?
