Terminator: Special Edition R1
I have just read that for the American version of Teminator, Jimmy Cameron has recorded a new interview which has been edited into the existing documentary, and he has also recorded an audio commentary for the deleted scenes. So, once again the UK is stiffed with a high price for the DVD whereas, the Yanks will get the DVD cheaper and with more stuff on it. Then the major studios have the cheek to complain that the UK and other countries are importing too many DVDs!
As many people have stated: the film is more important than the special features, which is true, but it would be nice for the studios and people like Jimbo Cameron to get it right, not just for the US.
RE: Terminator: Special Edition R1
Oh well, you`ll just have to get a multi-region player then, and buy the US version.
Anyone in their right mind would have waited to see what was on the US version before wasting their cash on the UK version, which was always going to be inferior.
Why is the US version more expensive? It`ll no doubt be the same price if not cheaper than the UK - most DVDs usually are.
RE: Terminator: Special Edition R1
the r1 version has a nice looking holographic cover .
RE: Terminator: Special Edition R1
My point is that we, in the UK, shouldn`t have to wait to see what the US disc is like. Every region should be treated the same by the studios, if they can put all this stuff on the discs in one region why can`t they do it for the rest? It`s almost as bad as bringing out a film and then replacing it a few weeks later with the Super Duper Nifty Special Ultimate Collector`s Edition.
But at least R2 has more features on the Traffic DVD than R1. So now, maybe we`ll all have to buy R2 for once!
RE: Terminator: Special Edition R1
Yes - but for how long?
Those of us wise enough to wait will find that Traffic will get released R1 again as a special edition, with more features.
Give it 6 months or so. I`ll be willing to wait, I don`t think for me it is the type of film I would want to watch again so soon after seeing it at the cinema (in it`s opening week).
I thought the C4 series was way better than the movie.
RE: Terminator: Special Edition R1
me too. it was a pretty good film until the god awful happy, `its all gonna turn out just fine` type ending. it made me cringe.

terminator will always be a good film guys, why harp on about the extras?(again).he may be good at making movies, but jim cameron is about as much fun as s###ting in a bottle.and what good is a nice shiny case?it just sits on a shelf doing nothing!
get a grip and just accept movies on their own merits, but i believe most people will buy dvd for its presentation quality not content.there`s nothing better than a good movie getting the best transfer ever.or indeed a good restoration-anyone who`s seen and heard the opening credits to superman will know what im on about.
ill say again
good film+extras=added value
bad film+extras=excuse for a bad film for short sighted consumer
how many people show the extras to their mates?rather than that classic scene?
RE: Terminator: Special Edition R1
The UK version of Drive has a load of extra stuff the Yanks don`t get.
At the end of the day whinge as loud as you want but they`re not going to take any notice.
They`ll come up with excuses. It sucks, it`s a shame but unfortunately it`s life!
