movietyme lists it as a criterion collection disc whereas play247 lists it as a collectors editon. Which is the correct edition? the extras look the same. I have dogma and mallrats on dvd so i quite fancy this film now.
Chasing Amy is Criterion Collection disc, as far as I know this is the only "special" edtion of the film available. Judging by the fact that you have Dogma and Mallrats, it seems that you don`t own the classic that is Clerks. If you haven`t got this I suggest you get the Miramax Collectors Edition ASAP.

The version from Play247 is the Criterion one - good price too last time I checked.
Interestingly Artificial Eye are sorting out a R2 release for the Clerks special edition with all the special features in tact. Only thing that`s holding them back at the moment are a few copyright issues on one of the music videos. I mention this as a couple of people I know with the R1 version have had a few problems with lip-synch...
shall i get the animated series or the normal series? are they both equally good? I think ill chase amy first
I haven`t got around to buying the animated series yet. But I suggest that you get the original film first, as you can how the Kevin Smith films started.

The animated series is excellent, definately worth shelling out for. Kevin Smith with visual imagination - shock, horror.
Get them both they`re fantastic and worth it just for the commentary
