Eraser cuts...

Chris Legg (Mostly Harmless) posted this on Tuesday, 12th June 2001, 18:42

I don`t think the train/limo scene at the end of Eraser is the one that was cut for the 15 certificate release.

The scene that was cut (which looks obviously cut when you watch it closely) is where they storm that lasses house in the woods and there are a load of blokes there waiting for them.

This scene was butchered for my PAL VHS copy. If I ever buy a version of this film on DVD, I`ll be sure to buy the Region 1 version because that should be completely uncut. Anyone own it?

Also, I think that it could be released in Britain with an 18 certificate, as the Terminator 2 Special Edition is going to be released uncut as an 18 (if it ever sees the light of day over here). Doesn`t really bother me if it doesn`t because I`ve already got the superior Region 1 set. There`s rumours of the Region 2 set not having the scene branching, so you can`t select which version you would like to watch!

How poor is that? Surely it could be done for a Region 2 disc if it has been done for Region 1. And don`t count on the Region 2 set having dts either...

I own the R1 Eraser and it is completely uncut.

For a full rundown of the scenes, including the one you mention, which were cut for the 15 cert. UK video, have a look at the Melon Farmers page:

http://www.melonfarmers.co.uk/hitse.htm

Even the 18 cert. cinema release was cut by 27 seconds.
