Bad or good news about the Transformers movie

Pete-MK (Elite Donator) posted this on Saturday, 2nd April 2005, 08:38

I thought work had already started on this, but apparently they haven`t even got a director yet. It would appear that Emmerich is really keen to do Transformers, but if The Island is received well, Dreamworks could very well push him out of the way in favour of Michael F***in` Bay.

Well, if you want lots of hero shots in a film with no real content and a load of US flags waving in the background, that`s fine. But this film is a childhood dream for a lot of us, and I can`t help that Mr `Style over Content` will screw it up.

I think Bay could quite possibly do a decent job with the material, so I`m reserving judgement. :D

Oh my God, Bear is driving! How can that be?

That could be well good news. The Island looks great, really stellar in terms of composition, at least in the trailer (compared to his other films). Transformers is basically a comic book movie, so it could work really well.

And you can say what you want about Bay, but he won`t pander to the kids. And he`ll be under Spielberg`s hand. I have faith if this is indeed true and not an April Fool`s joke (because it was posted on AICN yesterday).

Bay might not pander to the kids but Spielberg will do.

As for the style of content, isn`t that basically 90% of all Hollywood blockbuster movies?

And if you survive till 2005, I hope you`re exceedingly thin, For if you are stout you will have to breathe out, While the people around you breathe in.

Apparently, he`s confirmed

I will not be getting excited about this film. Sorry, but Bay killed Bad Boys 2. I`m hoping he doesn`t throttle this.

SPOILER:
but Bay killed Bad Boys 2

Did he f***ers, it`s got to have the best action sequences so far, at least he doesn`t do an Anderson and make films soley for the PG audience.

I get the feeling Transformers is going to have tons of stunning action and special effects sequences.

As if the MB nail wasn`t bad enough, some castings have been announced.

Shia LaBoeuf
Tyrese Gibson
Megan Fox
Josh Duhamel
Amaury Nolasco
Rachel taylor.

I`ve heard of 2 of these people. Maybe the big names that have been confirmed will save it

Jon Voight
Bernie Mac

Oh my sweet Jesus tap-dancing Christ. This is going to suck so f***ing much.

Yeah but an unknown cast could be better if they were perfect for the role.

I`d much rather have that in films than some big name thrown in just to draw in the punters who is totally wrong for the character (eg George Clooney as Batman)
