According to AICN (seen on Darkhorizons.com), could be good....

Ive heard that Angel is going to be a ladydee, because a guy with feathery wings would be too feminine.

also Singer took some of the more senior production crew with him to Superman, which, apparently is looking so good, X3 production is being stepped up to release first.

That in addition to Halle Berry leaving and Cylops being re-cast, im fearing stinker and the end of the franchise.

Why is Cyclops being re-cast? I did think the guy playing him was void of any charisma, but its silly to replace him now. :/

Oh my God, Bear is driving! How can that be?

I think he left to play the son of Jimmy White in the new SM film.

IGN are reporting that Angel will be male, and cyclops will only play a small part.

Bryan Singer has really f*cked over this franchise with his decision to move to Superman.

Oh well, I suppose he made it great in the first place. But he started the Dark Phoenix story and without James Marsden as Cyclops it just won`t work. Although if Cyclops has only a small part, then maybe they are leaving the Phoenix for the next film.

Matthew Vaughn as Director, very off-beat choice, but maybe not a bad one.

But either way I can`t see this being as good as the first one, which is a shame. At least Raimi is doing Spider-Man 3.

Matthew Vaughn? As in Layer Cake? To direct X3?

F*** right off, thank you very much. I`d rather McG got it. And i`d REALLY rather he didn`t.

I think i`ve made my position clear.... ;)

McG was previously attached to do Superman. *shudder*.

TBH, if singer was going to do either film, im glad he chose superman. At least weve had 2 good x-men films. I just hope that X3 doesnt slip into third film parody, like blade 3 and many others before it.

The only thing im worried about is that singer (who was chosen to bring some `grit` to the franchise) will make Superman too character and angst driven and show us all Clark and no supes. I want to believe a man can fly, goddammit!

Hmmm... yes.

A little less Smallville and a little more Superman I & II please Mr Singer, sir.

I`ll say one thing. With Batman Begins, Superman Returns and Wonder Woman in the hands of Joss Whedon, the next few years are going to DC`s.

I`m pleased Bryan Singer moved on to Superman - I would have loved him to do X-Men 3, but if it was a choice between the two, then Superman (in the movies) has been gone waaay too long and such an iconic figure deserves a great director/team behind him. From what I`ve read, Singer is a HUGE fan of the first 2 Superman movies and is keeping the same feel and continuity as them - including the John Williams music! :D

It will be interesting to see how X-Men 3 turns out - I don`t think losing Halle Berry will hurt much (I thought Storm was quite under-used). And out of all the original cast, I don`t mind losing James Marsden as Cyclops - I always thought he was too young and didn`t really come accross as a team leader like in the comics and animated series.
