X files seasons M lock box sets questions

Skeeter (Competent) posted this on Monday, 14th March 2005, 12:02

My brother has started collection them and gets each season usually by birthday or xmas now, he has 1-3 seasons and getting 4th for his birthday from me.

I have borrowed 1-3 as he has seen them and i wanted to see some again as its been awhile since i saw them and nice to see them from the begining.

My questions are. Why is it not made into animorphic widescreen for the release of the box sets. My next questions is. Why has there not been a dolby digital 5.1 mix or dts as I thought it could really do with 5.1 surround as it would enhance the spooky mood of the show a heck of alot especially with all the cool action episodes.

Anyone know why these were not included in the box set releases and will they ever be enhanced this way in future x-files boxset releases like a special edition box set or ultimate box set edition where the 1-9 seasons are boxed together with widescreen and 5.1 surround. As if they were to get this treatment then i would advice my brother to get them versions from now on when released.

Also looking at season 1 1st disc I see it being very grainy and could have used some cleanup treatment. I wounder why they didn`t do this. Possibly to save money is realistic but x files was a major hit everywhere so i would have thought they would try there best to sell a x files with cleaning up the shows and giving them special treatment. Ah well.

So I wait here waiting for your replies why you think/know the above answers for my questions.

Seasons 1 to 4 of The X Files were filmed in 4:3 so that is the reason they are not widescreen but Seasons 5 to 9 are presented in Anamorphic Widescreen. As for why they didnt do 5.1 I think alot of people would like to know that.

Also, the new M lock boxsets might be re-releases but the discs that make up the sets havent been touched since they were first released years ago, the only thing difference about the re-releases is the packaging.

I am sure The X-Files will be release again but I doubt it will be on the current DVD format, more likely will be on either HD-DVD or Blu-ray but it wont be for years.
