JAWS on DVD

paolaspierre (Mostly Harmless) posted this on Tuesday, 21st December 2004, 14:09

Can anyone tell me if JAWS has been deleted - I`ve been looking for JAWS (The first one) on DVD everywhere and there`s no trace of it. I can only find the sequels. Even on various websites it does not appear to be in stock.

Could someone shed some light?

Thanks

Paolaspierre

Not a lot of use for those without DTS support though. CD-Wow list it as having both Dolby 5.1 and DTS 5.1, but I was under the impression that it only had DTS and Dolby 2.0 Surround. Was another version released?

There was a Region 2 with 5.1, but seems to be a collector`s item, now. :(

I have the R2 `Anniversary Edition` with 5.1 sound - is this the one that is appreciating in value? Does anyone know if the DTS track is much better than the 5.1?

Um, DTS is 5.1. The DTS isn`t supposed to be much better than the Dolby, if at all.

I knew that DTS is 5.1 but didn`t know whether the difference between Dolby 5.1 and DTS was that great. Not worth buying the version with DTS then?

I would wait until next year as I am sure they will then release a 30th Anniversary Edition, cant believe its already been nearly 5 years since I got my original Jaws DVD.

hey, its in Virgin at 9.99 or 3 for 20, or 5 for 30 - at least it is at Bluewater (makes sideshoe mel groaning noise)... so not too bad a deal I reckon. I couldn`t get it for ages either.
