Wimbledon - AVOID!!!!

el_duderino (Competent) posted this on Wednesday, 29th September 2004, 22:02

Just been to see this tonight....... one of the worst movies I`ve seen for ages (or since Van Helsing!!!)

Some of the dialogue actually made me cringe!!! and Paul Bettany is so blatantly mis-cast that it`s embarassing.

Also all of the games use CG tennis balls which makes some of the shots look ridiculous.

All in all....... sh*te.

Must admit, when I first heard about it I did think it was one of the worst ideas for a film I`d heard of for a very very very very long time!

Still, at least Hugh Grant isn`t in it!

....and that`s probably it`s only real selling point! :/

Yes, but....

Kirsten Dunst`s in it.
All other considerations are subordinated.

I think the best tennis game on celluloid has to be from The Witches of Eastwick.

What about Strangers On A Train? Not a great tennis match but the only movie that I can think of in which the lead is a tennis player and tennis forms an integral and suspenseful scene in the movie.
