24 Series 3:- what did you think? *****SPOILERS*******
I`ve just finished watching the last disc of Season 3, so tell me what did you think.
Personally I thought it wasn`t as good as Season 1 or 2, and on a few occasions it jumped the Shark. I also felt that the final final ending of the very last episode was so downbeat, it didn`t have the hook that the previous 2 series had.
There were allot of tense moments, through out the series, but there was allot of waffle, and unnecessary story line, just to pad out the episodes. I also felt that there was some serious plot holes, and the later episodes contradicted the earlier episodes.
I know Fox will run this to the ground, like they did with The X-Files, and are currently doing so with The Simpsons, but I do think it`s time they ended the series, before it becomes stupid and unrealistic.

Too late, Season 2 took it to that extreme ;)
I really enjoyed it. The first major twist that Jack, Tony and Gael (sp?) had secretly made a plan to intercept a virus was hard to swallow. But there were some great moments in the episodes before that. And the second half of the series was a lot better than the first. But I also agree that the last episode wasn`t great, and I agree some of the sub-plots were just there for padding (Chase`s baby being the obvious one).
But I`m awaiting Season 4 because 24 is still compelling entertainment, much better than a lot of films... and it`s 18 hours long, and that`s 50+ hours of top quality material over the 3 seasons :D

RE: 24 Series 3:- what did you think? *****SPOILERS*******
I thought Season 3 was excellent. Far superior to Season 2 and not far off the quality of the first season. Yes the ending was slightly disappointing and downbeat - I was waiting for it to end on a cliffhanger and it never did - but as entertainment goes I don`t think it can be beaten - apart from maybe Alias.
Roll on Season 4.

I thought they`ve all been good - give or take a few moments. The ending for season 3 for me was a bit disappointing although each episode is like a really watchable movie.
Roll on Season 4 and I hope I manage not to read anything about it before I see it!!!
RE: 24 Series 3:- what did you think? *****SPOILERS*******
I know a lot of people love it, but the premise is daft, given the size of LA, everywhere Jack goes has to be on average within a max of ten minutes of their HQ as each episode covers only one hour of the day. Or he would spend all the episode travelling. Yet given the novelty of the idea of a program covering a 24 hour period in a single series no one seems to have noticed this. This problem made the first series despite its very good production values a farce for me.
Still glad you all enjoyed it.

I know this is an old thread but I only recenlty did I get to have my `24 weekend` to watch season 3 back to back, phone off the hook, plenty of alcohol and food ;)
I loved it. :D What I love best about 24 is the fact that good and bad people die. How many times have you been watching a show and wanted someone to die, or the baddie gets caught and the good guy has a gun pointed at them and you just know that somehow they are going to escape/not get killed by talking or pulling some far fetched stupid stunt? Imagine my suprise when...
SPOILER:
He killed my namesake Nina! I thought she was going to get away with it and had to laugh when Jack was like ` You have no more information` and just shot her, three times! Also when he killed Chapelle, I had to pause and rewind and me and OH were shocked in disbelief!
I agree in that the ending was a bit of a disappointment, I thought something was going to happen to Jack whilst he was sitting in the car. Second half was much better than the first, bit p***ed off about Almeda getting locked up (makes no sense considering Jack did literally the same thing in season 1 yet he didn`t go to jail). Can`t stand Chase, that guy is an idiot, I was kind of hoping that the gun was loaded in that scene where Jack has to prove his loyalty and shoot him in the head. :o ;) I`m a cruel woman LOL :p
Roll on season 4 :D :D

i 100% agree with you on the bit with Chapelle, i honestly never feel tension or "edge of your seat" but that has to be the greatest moment in 24 history for suspense.
The finale episode was a dissapointment, but when you see Jack ball his eyes out, its a good moment of TV, showing that after all this he`s still human!
Spoilers
Nina getting shot was so blindingly obvious, that i didnt care. & as was it when Sherry got shot and the other women shot herself, so predictable i thought.
But one very silly problem is the Kim Bauer sindrom. even if she is Xtremely hot, i wouldnt go out with her:
Season 1 - Rick got shot
Season 2 - her bf lost a leg
Season 3 - Chase had a hand lobbed off
But still without a doubt the best thing on TV
You say psycho like its a bad thing
RE: 24 Series 3:- what did you think? *****SPOILERS*******
Nina, Jack didn`t do the same thing in series 1 really, he endangered a Senator`s life, Tony endangered millions. I agree though that Series 3 wasn`t as good as 1 and 2 but was still good, especially when the secret plan to intercept had been done with, should have started with Jack in Mexico already undercover would have kept the realism factor a bit more.

I agree, but I was thinking more along the lines of how important the president of USA is and whilst I know that this doesn't compare to the potential loss of millions of lives, some could argue that it could be on the same par. You get the gist of what I`m saying anyway :p I like Tony`s character, it would be a shame if he was written out.
I was also shocked at the beginning when Jack was strapping his arm up, that's why I love 24, its so unpredictable. :D
PS what was up with that annoying b!tch Chloe? God damn I was thinking if she worked for me she would have to get slapped for being so rude and she would have got fired a long time ago! She had a major attitude problem and I was waiting for Jack to take her to a room and pull his gun on her when she was starting on her 'Say please' and 'that's not my job' crap. Silly cow. >:(
RE: 24 Series 3:- what did you think? *****SPOILERS*******
LOL i agree Nina, i think i might have had to have shot Chloe if i worked at CTU.
I think they were making her a cow because they was going to make her a badguy or something, but just gave up on the idea.
Like Chases baby it was pointless!
You say pyscho like its a bad thing
