AAAAAARRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!

(Sorry, had to be done)

If I buy another bloody cut film, I`ll excise the bloody BBFC from the face of this planet (or at least where it hurts !!)

( I know, my own fault for not checking first. Wrists duly slapped.)

Don`t know if R4 is cut, but the cinema release was cut before the video release to get a PG rating (15 secs of the fight scene at the end).

See I wouldn`t mind half so much if they`d tell you it was cut on the case, and i mean cut AT ALL, even pre-cuts before submission - then you could make an informed descision, otherwise it`s just too easy to miss

was odd to watch... built up to these fights that just didn`t happen. also the projector they`re using for the telecine is shaking... not a recommended print!
now who can i flog this too...

Right!!!!

I`m getting really annoyed about this and reading about the cut versions of other films like Cliffhanger (why cut?) etc., etc.

Can`t something be done about this ?

Isn`t there a Trades Description Act out there? (i.e content(s) not as described on the box)

I WANT CUT FILMS TO SAY SO ON THE FRONT OF THE BOX!!!!!!!!!!
(in words like `Smoking Kills` notices on the side of fag packets)

grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!

It`s a good idea Norman, and James Cameron did it with True Lies, the notice "This film has been edited for censorship purposes" appeared on the initial UK video and laserdisc releases, but nobody seemed to care.

how can you cut Edward Scissorhands?

(pun intended!)

good film, no unnecessary violence - no reason to cut it.

what next - cuts in chitty chitty bang bang dvd release?

Melon farmers site:-

http://www.dtaylor.demon.co.uk/hitse.htm

says that the final fight scene was `trimmed` for a PG cert.

(Probably not enough headbutts in the rest of the film to censor anything else :-)

Believe it or not, The Brady Bunch 2 - The Movie was initially banned from UK cinemas because it featured the use of nun-chuckas (think that`s how its spelt). Knives, pistols and semi automatic weapons frequently get past the censors but two sticks tied together by a chain was deemed to offensive for our little eyes!

Yep, nunchucks, or whatever, were ex BBFC supremo James Ferman`s pet hate. He figured that they were so darned seductive when used properly that no teenage boy would be able to resist them. To back up his claims, he had a homemade pair in his desk drawer that were confiscated from some bozo on a council estate in London, which he would show to journalists who interviewed him.

but oddly "Me, Myself and Irene" gets away with a cow being shot in the head 6 times in frame and a dwarf beating jim carrey up with numchucks.....

wtf?????
