Hi jamesL
Can`t find the Japanese version anywhere I`m afraid. However if it`s the real Theatrical Cut of the film your after (with the best line in the film still in) then you might want to try the French release as I think this is the same cut (it`s an MGM release the same as the Japanese) all it misses out on is the DTS audio.
Hope this helps :)

Agent Jack Crawford FBI: You feel sorry for him.
Best line - Will Graham: As a child, my heart bleeds for him. Someone took a little boy and turned him into a monster. But as an adult... as an adult, he`s irredeemable. He butchers whole families to fulfill some sick fantasy. As an adult, I think someone should blow the sick f*** out of his socks.

Do you mean Manhunter or Red Dragon? :/ Manhunter is best, I enjoyed Red Dragon but Ed Norton isn`t old enough for Will Graham. Both are better than Hannibal.

My feelings is that the filmmakers of Hannibal should of stuck to the book, because my feelings is that Thomas Harris is going to re-introduce Will because he is the only person who can capture Hannibal, and rescue Clarance Starling and bring her back to reality.

I`ve always felt that Hannibal was Thomas Harris sticking 2 fingers up at Hollywood and saying let`s see you try and film that! Maybe because after Silence of the Lambs the films were better known than the books. Although the last I heard he was working on the prequel The Lecter Variation with Dino De Laurentiis so I`m probably wrong (or he got over it, guess money will do that).
