Page 1 of Any Anime fans out there?

.......if so, have you got any recommendations?

Ive currently worked my way through all the episodes of the excellent Naruto and Hellsing and wondered if anyone had any recommendations for any other quality anime series.

Ive seent he Cowoy Bebop Movie but not the series, Aparently though it is definatly one to see as it surpasses the Movie.

Macross Plus is a 4 part series that i quite enjoyed although it has had some very mixed reviews.

Not long discovered anime so i havent seen very much yet.

I have Macross Plus, which, to be honest, wasnt that great. Im thinking of going for Ninja Scroll: The Series, which is has got some really mixed reviews.

You are right, the Cowboy Bepop series definitely surpasses the movie and I would recommend it highly.

I would also recommend Serial Experiments Lain as a great series (strange but cool) as well as anything by Hayao Miyazaki if those are to your taste.

There are also the classics, both exellent movies:-

Ghost in the shell (my all time favorite)

Laputa, the flying Island.

I also managed to get at a Sunday market, some `Marine Boy` epsodes, ie, the series from the early 70`s (English dubed version) Quite hard to get I believe.
Its like a Japanese clone version of Jerry Andersons Stingray.

What was the one they used to have late on Channel 4? I can`t remember much about it, apart from it was some kind of future police force or something (I think there were four members, all completely different) - I remember it being really good. I know it`s a crap description but it`s been that long since I saw it.

Actually, could it have been Cyber City Oedo?

Oh, and watched the Cowboy Bebop movie over the weekend and thought it was brilliant. You`re saying the TV series is even better? :o

Yep the one ur thinking of is Cyber City Oedo 808, was only a 3 part series though.

If you like Ghost In The Shell then you`ll love the TV Series...hell even if you didn`t think it was that great u`ll prob love the TV Series anyway! :) Definately about the best anime out there though be carefull of the cheaper DVD versions as the subtitles are notably poorer. (Proper ones come with the shiny/hologram packaging usually). Cowboy Bebops already been mentioned, Outlaw Star is another good one. If you like CGI anime then the FFVII inspired CGI film is meant to be rather good but not seen it yself yet.

Ogster, lol, great minds think alike! ive got all the ones you mentioned (excluding Ichi and the newest appleseed). Which is the main reason im looking for series, as i have caned all the good movies!

Im getting into ongoing series (like the aformentioned Naruto) in a big way and im getting the fandubs off bit torrent at the moment.

Any Anime fan should check out AnimeNFO, an excellent resource. Its so extensive its hard to pick a show, which is why i asked you guys!
