I think Toy story 1 & 2 (Xmas pressie) R1 because it was cheaper than buying R2 TS2.

1st - Pleasantville (HMV sale in Cardiff back in the days when the DVD sale was restricted to about 3 columns of shelf space)
last - Who framed Roger Rabbit
first - i got a whole bunch from dvdboxoffice including good will hunting. also some indian ones. this was dec 1998.
last - ordered kill bill, got critic full series.
First - R1 Bride of Chucky, and the Elite special edition of The Evil Dead. This was back in about May 1999.
Last - He-Man volume 1. :) Volume 2 is on its way! :D
