LOTR: TT: EE

I am looking at getting The Two Towers Extended Edition and am a bit concerned about the number of people having problems with their version.

Is it worth waiting to see if they do a re-issue with these problems sorted, or should I just sack it and get it?

I have it, been through the first 2 discs, and have had no problems. Got my R2 copy from DVD.co.uk. :-)

From what I`ve heard the problems arise on the commentary tracks and on the extras discs.

I have the R2, I`ve watched all the extras on discs 3 and 4 and I`ve watched the Peter Jackson commentary. No problems at all (apart from a hiccup on the DD 5.1 track, but I can`t hear it anymore so I must have been hallucinating :/ ).

Go for it I say :)

The problems only appear to be with certain players. Grundig, Sanyo, Limit, Pioneer and Wharfedale so far, and only on certain models, so it`s a bit of a lottery.

No problem on the Pioneer 656A. Don`t like the way the film is split though - couldn`t they have done a `fade to black`? But apart from that looks and sounds very good indeed.

My commentary probs are on a Reoc A3.
Until I know it`s my player and not the DVD, maybe should lend `my precious` to a mate, I suppose I`m just going to have to put up with it, and keep checking here to see if anyone`s got an answer...
