LOTR - Two Towers Extended R1 or R2???

Hi,

I will be buying the extended TT soon - should I go for R1 or R2 and why?

Cheers.

Well, both versions are identical specs-wise (I think), although the R1 may have some form of `Gollum acceptance speech` that the R2 lacks due to certification issues.

The R1 has NTSC judder, and the R2 has PAL speed-up...if neither of these things matter to you, then go for the one that is cheaper, or the one with the packaging that you prefer.

I am going for the R2. :-)

More or less what Rik said.

I`ve got the R2 of The Two Towers: Theatrical Cut and I was very happy with the sound and picture, so I`m going with the R2 of the Extended Edition as well. I very much doubt EiV will make a cock-up of the sound like they did on the FOTR: EE, since they should have learned from their mistake and there was no problems with the TTT: TC. :)

...but then again, the TC of FOTR had no sound issues on R2.

sssshhhhhhhh.... the pixies might hear you ;)

I`ve read that EiV changed the company who do the pitch correction, so there shouldn`t be any problems, and no problems have been reported... yet ;)

So, if EiV know there was a balls up with FOTR EC, then shouldn't they have replaced the discs, and fix the problem?

Universal did this when they balls up Back to the Future, maybe not enough people complained?

cheers
