alan partridge...what would you do?
I have the `original` version of series 1 (now deleted) and am about to get both series for a friends 40th. He doesn`t know about this two versions of series 1 business, so which version do I give him and which do I keep for myself..the collectors item (?) or the newer one with all the commentaries on?

Well its a bit tight of you to give a friend a second hand DVD aint it???? :/
RE: alan partridge...what would you do?
Alan Partridge? If I met him in the street, I`d go for a head shot - two rounds. Can`t stand Steve Coogan. 8)

Man, that is tight - it`s almost as bad as my mate telling me he`s giving his DVD`s away as presents this Xmas.

Tight? Not really! I`m still buying him 2 DVDs, but do I give him a collectors item viewed only once (so far) or a `brand new` one with a few more features?
Anyway, he`s getting the new one, but thanks everyone for your helpful input!!
RE: alan partridge...what would you do?
So what is the difference then between the original and this one...this one, or is this the original?
I want to get both series, shame they don`t do a boxset.

RE: alan partridge...what would you do?
"This one" has two commentary tracks and a separate disc of extras. The "original" is a single disc with no commentaries but has some deleted scenes, etc. Also the running time of the original is listed as one minute longer than the new version...mmmm. There is only one version of series two..so far.

They do.
Both series plus KMKYWAP £45 in HMV.
Is someone suggesting that the newer DVD doesn`t have the deleted scenes?
RE: alan partridge...what would you do?
Get all 3 seperately for for £41.97 from play. And yes there does appear to be deleted scenes on series 1. BTW, wasn`t series 1 originally deleted for including copyrighted material without paying for it?
