Page 1 of OMEN trilogy.. with 4 films????? please explain

Hi..

I was wanting to buy the omen trilogy box set have used a pricechecker and found there is a difference in box sets.???
Standard version i can get from any high street contains 3 films and some extra.s on 3 discs

But in the USA and OZ there is a 4 FILM trilogy the omen, damien-omen 2, omen 3 and the awakening (never released)
Anyone ever bought this boxset or seen teh 4 film in the trilogy...

If i order from the states it works out cheaper than buying the 3 disc set in UK...

the 4th film was a TV/straight to vid movie. If you`d seen it on one of its few airings on TV in the UK you`d understand why it`s not in the UK Omen set - it`s absolutely awful. It`s got really low production values, a very bad cast (including the lady scientist from the V mini series) and a terrible story based around the supposed pregnancy/offspring of the lady Damien layed in Omen 3.

I`d imagine the real reason it`s not in the set is more to do with licensing issues than anything else, although the trilogy never needed a 4th film anyway, it ended well enough with Omen 3 and certainly didn`t need a straight to vid follow up movie.

What about The Omen 5?? There`s a little seen TV movie/Pilot for a "Omen" TV series out there as well...

Was Omen 5 filmed? I remember reading the (crap) book and I`m sure there was a part 6 in book form.

After the "sucess" of Omen 4: The Awakening, there were plans to continue the story with Omen 5... it was eventually put on hold. Then came Poltergiest: The Legacy, the TV series based very loosely on the Poltergeist movies - this lead to the idea of a Omen television series. They did film the Pilot for the series, I don`t know if it was ever shown outside of a limited TV showing in the US - it was titled "The Omen", but after it wasn`t picked up for series it was re-titled "Omen 5"

I`ve just got "The Omen Boxset" from the USA with the 4 movies.

The 4th movie ("The Awakening")was indeed a straight-to-video movie. It`s been on Sky a few times. It`s not great but surely if you`re an Omen fan you`ll want all the movies anyway?

By the way, the fist disc of the set has all the special features, including two "Behind The Scenes" documentries. Be prepared to be spooked when you hear some of the stories!
