CD Wow are currently advertising the 1st Season of 24 with the following note:

"PLEASE NOTE THE ISSUE OF MISSING FOOTAGE IN THE EARLY ADDITIONS HAS BEEN RESOLVED"

I`ve not heard of this "issue" before - has anyone else?

yes, because i bought the set on the day of release. it`s not too much to worry over, but basically, fox used the US `version` of 24 to master the DVD`s rather than the BBC `version` as was used on the videos over here. Basically, the BBC added in a few extras scenes onto what appears the latter episodes. When you bought the incorrect set, you could send back discs 5 and 6 only, to receive the new versions. The missing footage includes such things as SPOILERS MOST LIKELY IF YOU HAVEN`T SEEN THE SERIES

The bald dresen bloke threatening someone with a knife and teri telling nina she is pregnant, a different twist this put on the ending

anyway, it apparently only affected discs 5+6, although some said otherwise. The US version isn`t technically missing anything for it, it`s just the BBC chose to add footage to make up the time, which alters in the US due to PAL/NTSC no doubt, and adverts

I also bought the series as soon as it came out last august and mine was one with the missing footage. I think it is only aboout 2 or 3 minuets at most missing in total. At the time I did not bother getting my discs changed because it was not worth it. Lets just hope they dont make the same cock up with the 2nd series.

Thanks for the info, folks.

I made the mistake of missing season 1, hence the dvd purchase, but have watched season 2 since day 1 (or should I say "hour 1") and it`s the best thing I`ve seen on TV for ages. I`ll watch Season 1 when season 2 finishes.

The only problem with watching 2 before 1 is that small bits of the storyline have crossed over, Nina Myers being the baddy & killing jack Bauer`s wife, for example. Hopefully season 1 will still be worth watching when season 2`s finished.
