Terminator 2 on region2

I notice that Terminator is finally being released on R2. I was wondering what the differences are between the R1 version and the up and coming R2 version. It appears as if the R2 version has two disks and the R1 doesn`t. It that correct? Does the material on the disc differ? If anyone is in the know I would love for you to share the info. Cheers.

Well actually I thought the R1 version of T2:Ultimate Edition was released in both a 2 disc set and a 1 disc, double sided set. This gave folk the option of choosing which one they liked best you see. So the R2 release could be either.

I`d prefer the 2 disc set personally.

The region 1 version of T2:UE was available as a 2xDVD-9 set or 1 DVD-18 disc (a double sided disc with film on one side extras on the other).

If you`re unsure what "DVD-9" and "DVD-18" mean, read the rec.video.dvd FAQ hosted on this site, particularly the following section :-

http://www.dvd.reviewer.co.uk/info/recfaq.asp#3.3

The original plan in region 1 was that T2:UE would be available as a DVD-18, but manufacturing plants couldn`t make enough of these discs to keep up with demand, so they started to manufacture the 2xDVD-9 versions. Some people got to choose which version they got, but it generally depended on which supplier you used and how early you got your pre-order in.

Most region 2 suppliers are describing T2:UE as a 2 disc set.
