1:1 DVD copies

aja007 (Elite) posted this on Tuesday, 25th March 2003, 21:49

Is there any software available that does true 1:1 DVD copies (except Steinberg`s "DVD Copy")e.g. also copies Special Features etc?

The software would have to incorporate de-coding software, of course.

u can`t make a true 1:1 copy as most dvds r on dual layer disks, but pinnacle instant copy 7 lets you copy a dvd by re-encoding the film to fit on a single layer disk.also dvd95copy and dvd2one.

Pinnacle will not copy protected DVD`s, you could use Alcohol 120%:
You can trial it using:
http://cd-rw.org/software/cdr_software/cdr_tools/alcohol120.cfm#download
it`s only 3mb, here is what it can do:

Alcohol 120% is one of the hottest products in the CD-R/DVD scene! You could say it's a combination of the famous CloneCD, Daemon Tools and BlindWrite.

Alcohol has 3 kinds of functionality:

-It duplicates your CD/DVDs: Alcohol handles copy protections and it has easy presets for each kind of task: Playstation (1&2), SecuROM, ProtectCD, SafeDisc, VideoCD..

-It burns your CD images: Supported image types are BIN/CUE, CloneCD, BlindWrite, ISO, DiscJuggler

-It mounts CD images as virtual drives: You can use CDs directly from image files on your HD and enjoy much faster speed. It emulates copy protections. You can use this also to use your downloaded images without burning!

All this is very neatly packaged to a compact and very easy to use user interface. I can honestly say that it is the easiest program of it's kind and still possibly the most advanced.

Very much recommended!
