Is there any version out that doesn`t have sound delay problems?

The first release of Ghost in the Shell had no sound delay, but it had left out the signal that would switch your TV`s zoom mode automatically.

People who complained about having to press a button on the remote control to get the anamorphic picture right meant that the disc was remastered into the mess that we have now.

If anyone`s listening, I wouldn`t mind switching the zoom mode of my TV manually. So if you want to swap the first version for the sound delayed version...

:-)

There is a new Korean version available, but think it is only subtitled. I am thinking of buying it.

It would seem that there is a "Special Edition" due out in UK in early July (3rd or 11th, dates conflict, WH Smith say it was released on 17th March, but they have none in stock). Other retailers, including Tesco and MVC, are taking preorders.

I can`t find out what is new about this, but hopefully lip synch problems have been solved.

Anyone know anything about this? I have also read that an Akira special edition is due around this time.

I heard there were DVD problems so I will stick with my VHS video version which is great.

This is one of my all time favorite SI-FI animated films, it is just so deep, it gets you really thinking.

Reminds me of one of the famous SI-FI fiction storys that covers the Cyborg condition related to the soul...

`Soul of a robot` by Barrington J Bayley. Quartet Books Reference ISBN 0704312905 Published 1974 (Dont know if its still in print, my copy was 1977) Warning.. Its a bit X rated like Ghost, bet thats got you interested.
